My Experience

Since 2018, Yris Vernier has worked at four courts, three nonprofit organizations, and four law firms with a strong reputation in this field.

She has worked with the following institutions:

  • Four courts—the Paris Administrative Court (Immigration Law Division), and the District Courts of Versailles, Nanterre, and Bobigny;
  • Three organizations—Lawyers Without Borders, La Cimade, and the Paris Bar Association’s Legal Clinic;
  • and four renowned law firms, three of which specialize exclusively in immigration and nationality law—Lexidy France, Sophie Tournan, Avec Vous Avocats, and Louise Dumont Saint-Priest, former secretary of the conference.

She also worked in Canada under a Working Holiday Visa (WHV) and in Greece.

She has more than five years of professional experience in obtaining visas, residence permits, and French citizenship in France and abroad.

She supports people from all over the world who find themselves in situations that are sometimes complex and always emotionally charged.

Admitted to the Paris Bar

While studying law and economics at the University of Nanterre and later at Paris Panthéon-Assas/Paris 2, Maître Vernier quickly turned her attention to immigration law, a field in which the law has a direct and tangible impact on people’s lives.

After earning a master’s degree in human rights from Paris Panthéon-Assas/Paris 2 University in 2021, she passed the exam administered by the Paris 2 Regional Center for Professional Training of Attorneys (CRFPA) on her first attempt and was admitted to the Paris School of Law (EFB).

She was then admitted to the Paris Bar in February 2025. For the past five years, she has devoted herself exclusively to immigration law.

In her personal life, she demonstrates great determination and a strong sense of adventure. In 2022, she embarked on a year-long solo trip, during which she lived in Greece, Canada (Work and Travel Visa), and Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.

Why? The decision to devote oneself exclusively to this field

Behind every case we handle, there is a life story.

Maître Vernier naturally turned to immigration law. It all began in 2018 when she assisted several close friends who were overwhelmed by the complexity and stress of renewing their residence permits. She then realized just how unsettling these administrative procedures could be for people who had done nothing wrong—other than being at the mercy of a slow and sometimes arbitrary bureaucracy.

This calling also has deeper roots in his family history: his grandfather’s brother emigrated to Canada shortly after World War II, and decades later, his descendants had to fight to have their French citizenship recognized and preserved.

It was this dual experience—that of providing support and that of her family legacy—that led her to specialize in immigration law, driven by the conviction that every case deserves both human and legal consideration.As a result, she has declined all cases outside this field since the beginning of her practice.

Who is it for?

This is about much more than just administrative procedures—it’s about your story and your future.

It is to support people through these life journeys that Attorney Vernier has chosen to devote himself exclusively to immigration and nationality law since the beginning of his practice.
